The Dallas Police Department has been pretty tight-lipped about the arrest of one of their own other than to confirm the arrest. Female Dallas cop, Sgt. Jamie L. McDonald, was arrested by Royse City Police Saturday night and booked into the Rockwall County Jail at 8:08 p.m. She was charged with felony injury to a child according to the Dallas Police Department. She currently remains in jail reports Dallas News.

No bail amount was available for the 16-year veteran of the department. She was placed on administrative leave following the arrest. The department issued a statement saying:

On October 13, 2018, Dallas Police Sergeant Jamie L. McDonald, #8312, was arrested by officers from the Royce City Police Department. She was arrested on the following charge: Injury to a Child (Felony of the First degree).

Sergeant Jamie McDonald has been with the department since September 2002 and was assigned to the South Central Patrol Division. She has been placed on Administrative Leave during the ongoing criminal and administrative investigations.

No further information was provided by the department. Police did not elaborate as to what led to the felony charge.
