BONIFAY, FL – A Florida cop is on the other side of the law after moonlighting as a drug dealer. A peace officer’s salary just wasn’t cutting it so Dwayne Frazier White decided to maximize his potential by selling pills on the side.
The Florida Department of Law Enforcement began investigating White at the request of the Holmes County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO). Holmes County is about 100 miles west of Tallahassee. The sheriff’s office received information that the 48-year-old was selling prescription opioid tablets. Authorities did not state what exactly tipped off the sheriff’s office but the information was passed on to FDLE.
During the course of FDLE’s investigation into White, undercover agents executed a controlled buy purchasing opioid tablets. White reportedly was using a personal cell phone to facilitate the drug deals while selling out of his squad car. He even had the gall to do it in uniform.
The Florida cop was charged with selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of an assisted living facility and unlawful use of a two-way communication device. He is being held in the Walton County Jail. White could not be reached for comment. The Bonifay Police Department (BPD) has refused to comment on the investigation.
