Give an unstable person a gun and a badge and they strut around thinking they can do as they please. Throw in a uniform and they can call themselves a cop. Despite the fashion accessories, they are still petulant, unstable post-adolescents living their second childhood. Self-control is a non-factor as they seek to manipulate the circumstances around them to fit their need. The only language they understand is aggression and violence. That was the only language spoken outside a Henderson Burger King when an Indianapolis cop tailed his father to the restaurant and snapped.

39-year-old Jeremy Fuesler, a 15-year-veteran of the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), has been placed on leave following an altercation at a Henderson Burger King. According to Michael Hewitt, spokesman with the IMPD, Fuesler has been placed on leave and “has no police powers at this time.” Fuesler was arrested on Aug. 31 and charged with first-degree wanton endangerment and fourth-degree assault – domestic/minor injury.

Arrest documents state that Fuesler tailed his father to a Burger King at 2230 U.S. 41-North. The cop says he was following his father to prove his infidelity. He rented a cop and followed his father to do just that.

The cop told Henderson officers he pulled up behind his father at the fast food joint. There was another woman present but she remains unidentified.

“Fuesler stated that he got out of his vehicle and started taking photos and videos of his father, and they began to argue,” court papers said. “His father charged at him and kept pushing him away. Fuesler said he had a rented vehicle, and his father approached it and began opening the door to get in. Fuesler said he tried to prevent his father from getting in the vehicle, pulled him out, and at that point his father fell to the ground.”

According to Fuesler, his father was upset with the intrusion and began yelling and charging at him. At that point the IMPD officer drew his weapon threatening to shoot and kill his father. He then says he quickly holstered his weapon to avoid serious problems. He said he drew his weapon because he was in fear for his life.
The father and the unidentified woman give a different account of the events outside the Henderson Burger King.
The father was not on the scene when police arrived but did return to be interrogated by police. Fuesler’s father said that he was pushed into the car and hit the driver’s side mirror. Court documents noted the injury to the father’s upper lip. After falling, the father said his cop son then pulled out his gun, pointed it at him, and threatened to kill him.
The woman’s account of the events were similar to Fuesler’s father. She told police Fuesler arrived at Burger King in a vehicle, blocking their vehicles and taking photos of them. Fuesler and his father began arguing. The dad approached the rental and the cop son shoved the father to the ground says the woman. When the father got off the ground, “he was angry. Fuesler pulled his gun, pointed it at his father and threatened to shoot him,” court papers said.
The IMPD officer was booked into the Henderson County Detention Center but has since bonded out. Henderson police did retrieve Fuesler’s gun but no word yet if it is his service weapon.
Fuesler is due in Henderson District Court Sept. 25.
