What is the fetish that police officers have with children? Every week brings more stories of cops violating kids. It’s getting to the point where it is trying to be pushed onto the general public as a mental disorder. If that is the case, police departments around the country are doing a piss poor job of vetting potential candidates for hire. Rape, molestation, sexual assault or whatever name you want to give it. Cops are protected and empowered by the shield to live out their dark twisted fantasies… sometimes at gunpoint.
Sgt. Richard Gooddine is accused of sexually assaulting a teen and then following her to the hospital hours later. According to Thomas Reynolds, the victim’s attorney, Gooddine had to be escorted out of the hospital by staff. The AJC reports:
Attorney Thomas Reynolds believes his 15-year-old client, another girl and two boys were followed from a Waffle House by Goodine, Channel 2 reported. He said Gooddine approached the group when they stopped at Sykes Park in East Point.
The attorney alleges Gooddine let the two boys and one girl go but kept the teen. The cop detained the teen for violating curfew.
Instead of taking the girl to the police station or to her home, Gooddine reportedly took her to the Village Highlands apartment complex. It is there the sexual assault occurred. Gooddine kept the girl there for hours before returning her home.
As is customary, the police department placed Gooddine on paid vacation after they received a complaint of sexual misconduct. Nelly Miles, spokeswoman for the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, said the East Point Police Department has requested the GBI to investigate the allegations.
This is not the first time Gooddine is facing accusations of sexual misconduct. Gooddine was involved in sexual battery and child molestation case involving another 15-year-old. In that case, the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office declined to press charges in the best interests of the victim. Fulton District Attorney Paul Howard said the 15-year-old was in counseling and making progress and didn’t want to re-traumatize her by reliving the events.
Gooddine maintained his innocence in that case.
Fast forward seven years and Gooddine is at the same crossroads again. This time the evidence is stacked up against him. He showed his face at the hospital and had to be removed by hospital staff. He allegedly was searching for the girl and her mother after finding out that she was taken to the hospital.
Gooddine has not been charged in the recent case.
