He is described as a pastor, doctor, prophet, and an apostle. You can add sexual predator to his many titles. The self-proclaimed prophet, teacher, apostle, and overall man-of-God Pastor Ricardo Strachan has looked behind the veil one too many times. The Lauderhill theocrat has besmirched and soiled the cloth by not practicing what he preaches. This jack-of-all-trades preaches about unity and integrity while falling victim to the sins of the flesh. Yes the Bible states that all sins are equal but in real life, there are levels to this. In modern time, the clergy is not supposed to defile the youth, even in the Catholic church.
A Lauderhill arrest report has identified the clergyman as a sexual predator who “victimized a 13-year-old girl more than three dozen times from January to December 2016.” Strachan was 38 at the time.
Strachan is listed online as the president of Prophetic Worshipers International Church, at 1727 Northwest 38th Ave. in Lauderhill, Fl. A woman who answered the telephone there Thursday evening distanced the church from the disgraced preacher.
“He is no longer with us,” she said. “He’s been gone from Prophetic Worshipers International for a long time, more than a year.”
Although the pastor preaches about integrity, it has come out that he also practices voodoo in secret. Strachan is said to have scared his 13-year-old victim into keeping the sexual abuse secret by forcing her to steal belongings from her family. He would take these belongings and perform voodoo rituals on them. He also told the victim that his wife is a cop and owned a gun.
The prophet apparently couldn’t see the noose closing around his neck. He routinely had sex with the girl in the parking lot of Dillard High School. Other times, he took her to a motel.
He is currently at Broward Main Jail. He is facing a single count of performing a lewd or lascivious act on a victim between the ages of 12 and 16. Bond is set at $100,000.
Lawrence Hashish, the prophet’s attorney, attempted to have the bond reduced to $25,000. Hashish argued that “his client was a U.S. citizen, has lived in South Florida for well over 20 years, has local family, no ties outside the jurisdiction, no criminal history and has had no contact with the girl’s family for years.” He added that Strachan was “completely shocked about” and “completely denies” the allegations.
“He might be a prophet, I don’t know,” he said. “We’re looking forward to our day in court to challenge these allegations.”
The investigation into Strachan when the girl’s cousin told police what happened. She also told police that she observed the changes in cousin’s eating and sleeping habits and overall attitude. She also knew the girl was stealing from her family but did not know why.
Another man is said to have been sleeping with the girl as well. The man is accused of having sex with her more than five dozen times from December 2015 to December 2016. He has not been identified in reports and there is no record of his arrest. He is alleged to have introduced the girl to Strachan.
