It’s not always racism! Kellen Winslow Jr. is back in the news again after getting arrested a second time in just as many weeks. Last week, the former NFL player was arrested by San Diego Sheriff’s deputies and charged with residential burglary at a mobile home park in Encinitas, Ca. Winslow refuted the accusations saying he was house-hunting for his mother-in-law. The Lyrical Elitist reported:
San Diego County Sheriff’s deputies stopped Winslow as he drove by and arrested him. The sheriff’s department did not offer any further details surrounding the arrest and the allegations leading up to the arrest. The tight end was charged with first-degree burglary and released from jail on $50,000 bail.
Winslow refuted claims that he had any malicious intent and stuck to his story of house-hunting for the in-law. Winslow’s publicist released a statement saying, “Mr. Winslow emphatically denies committing any burglary. He would have no need to burglarize or steal anything from anyone at a trailer park. He looks forward to being vindicated once this matter is fully investigation and adjudicated through the court system.”
This time around, Winslow is facing a litany of offenses that will guarantee his execution during this #MeToo phase. ESPN is reporting that Winslow is facing two counts of forcible rape, one count of forcible sodomy, one count of forcible oral copulation, two counts of kidnapping with the intent to commit rape and indecent exposure.
Winslow was released on another $50,000 bond and is expected to be arraigned Friday.
Authorities have not indicated if there is any connection between the home that he is suspected of burglarizing with the woman he is accused of raping and kidnapping. According to the sheriff’s department, the motivation behind Winslow’s arrest last week was the inconsistent statement he gave to authorities when he was initially detained. A spokesman said the former baller gave various statements as to what he was doing in the mobile home park which led to his arrest.
