Pregnant 10-Year-Old Vows to Carry Baby to Term According to Family

A pregnant Indiana 10-year-old’s family have spoken out stating that the girl will carry her baby to term.

The man accused of impregnating her, Nicholas Deon Thrash, was arrested Wednesday and faces charges of 10 counts of felony child molesting and an initial cash-only bond of half a million dollars.

Thrash is being held at the Grant County Jail while his victim is 20 weeks pregnant.

A tip from Crime Stoppers led police to a house on South Shelby St.

According to WTHR, the woman living in the home had just recently began dating and “had no idea investigators were looking for him until police swarmed her house this afternoon.”

Neighbors expressed shock and outrage at the allegations.

“That’s just sickening,” said Dantay Smith.

“It’s just sad to see somebody do something like that to a child, so young, so little. Why would you even think about doing something like that?” Smith asked.

“It’s crazy, especially a grown man and 10-year-old child. It’s like what’s the world coming to? What’s America coming to?” Akem Williams asked.

“It’s wrong and it’s gross and it’s just scary,” added Susanna Spencer.

“It’s disgusting. I couldn’t imagine having a daughter and that happen to her,” said Kaleesha Robinson.

“I think the dude need to be in prison for the rest of his life,” said Williams.

“He definitely needs to spend his life in prison, definitely,” added Robinson.

“We invited him into our home. He helped my husband all he could,” said the girl’s grandmother. “Now her whole life has changed. She’s scared being this far along and having to carry this baby!”

The girl’s mother is currently in prison on related charges of neglect of a dependent. She is also in the Grant County Jail being held on a 100-thousand dollars bond.

It is unclear whether the family will keep the child when it is born or will give it up for adoption.
